Daily Rant 05-24

First time in a while now that I took a road trip in a vehicle without cruise control. I cannot believe that modern cars do not come standard with cruise control. So for sure I will not be purchasing a vehicle that does not come with cruise control. The other thing I cannot do is drive for more than 30 minutes without any decent music, whether it be my gospel music or my house music. So the trip home next Monday will have decent music or I will not be driving but laying back and

Well folks, that is not much of a rant but I thought I needed to get that off my chest. I am also going to probably have a weekly rant instead of a daily because it is not everyday that I get a chance to be out and about to experience things that irritate me :)

Have a fantastic week ahead.
God Bless.

Daily Rant 05-16

Well considering that it is 7:40am, this may be a little pre-mature. But when you wake up at this time of the morning and the house you are in is at 37deg F (3deg C), you sit and wonder WTF am I doing here. I mean really people, things may be on the tough side economically, but you have to at least keep the place you live in at some sort of bearable and comfortable level. I do not want to be bundled up like a freaking Eskimo when I am inside a house in South Africa.

You would think however that the powers that be, would have the common sense to upgrade one of the basic nescessities of a country.......The damn power supply and grid. Oh never mind, I forgot where I was for a minute there and that there are no people in government here that have any sense.

Done for now :)
God Bless and stay as warm as you can.

Daily Rant 05-15

You have to love living in a country where nothing is free. Even open wifi connections that state "Guest" does not allow access to the Internet. I do not understand why things like this are so difficult to offer the public. 3rd world is a bit of an understatement for the great rainbow nation of South Africa. I knew coming back here from the USA was going to be challenging, but rediculous, I was not prepared for.

I guess after living in a 1st world country for so long, there are just things in life that you take for granted and don't realize just how good you have it till you get dropped off in the dark ages again. For me, the freedom to have affordable internet access with great bandwidth and unlimited data or even free wifi at hot spots all over the place is the biggest loss. We had adsl installed at the house and they supplied us a modem that has the capability of offering us 300MBps and yet they only allow us either a 2MBps or 4MBps package......REALLY?

Well that is my rant for the
God Bless you all.

Can things change?

Tuesday morning is upon us here in South Africa. Today will be one week that I am now officially back on home turf. I have to just say that I am a little disappointed to see that in 17 years there has been zero progress and a 100% negative growth in this beautiful country. I find it so sad that after all these years they still blame everything that is going wrong on apartheid.

But then again is there any government in the world that is without corruption of some sort or other. The sad thing is when it is so obvious and people are just so blind to see it or do something about it. Here in this country the people being hurt most with all the bad management., are the black South Africans. I have no idea what cool aid they are being given but someone really needs to step up to the plate and create some serious positive change if things are ever to change and this country become a prosperous one that we all know it has the potential to be.

The question we need to ask is, how does one motivate people that do not seem to have the will to better themselves or the country. I have to add that this is a majority of the people that I have encountered. Too many people would rather just sit and expect a handout for everything than actually take account of a situation and make a change.

What this country needs is a political party that can make common sense decisions and not be random and idiotic  as the ANC. I mean if we just look at the past decade and realize that they have had no strategy at all and just make random, non logical decisions then I for one would have never voted for them again. Please do not get me wrong, making a call to give every citizen of South Africa electricity in their houses is a great thing. You just don't rush into doing it without upgrading the power grid and power stations first.

I believe that now would be the time to start doing some aggressive research and to start an information campaign throughout the country on what exactly each political party has to offer, then look back at all the promises made by the ANC and just how many they have actually come through on.

A refocus on my life journey.

After being off the radar for several months I am back again. I am now back in South Africa after residing in the USA for the past 17 years. Unfortunately this has not been a choice I would have opted for, but it has been a hand I have been dealt due to some very poor life choices that I made.

One thing I have learnt through this life's journey so far, is that when we lose focus on the thing that brings and gives us life ( now this is a choice we are all given and have free will to choose what we believe it is. For me it is God and the Lord Jesus Christ ) then it takes a hard knock in life to refocus and take a few minutes to sit back and look at the entire picture again. I feel that the biggest downfall in life, is when we become self centered and not aware of the people around us who care. I for one have been a culprit and fallen and scraped my knees on that obstacle. Now I could quite easily just sit down and look at all the bad things that have happened and lay blame on others for the choices that I made to cause me to stumble, or I can learn from those choices and see all the possibilities that have come about. A saying I heard many years ago and that has stuck with me is this.... "Two men look through the same bars, one sees mud while the other sees stars."

One thing that I am grateful for, is that I have met some very nice people along the way and no matter where my life journey may take me I will always have the opportunity to stay in touch with those that have had and still have a positive bearing on my life. And I will always have my Creator and God to guide me along the path.

I do invite anyone who would like to keep in touch, to follow me on Facebook or on Twitter

God bless
